How Border Patrol Handles Transfer of Methamphetamines

The United States Border Patrol have been busy in their attempts to apprehend illegal immigrants
Two women were arrested and detained recently due to their attempt to carry a bundle of methamphetamine into the United States. Border Patrol apprehended them near a Border Patrol checkpoint, which are areas set up to try to deter illegal and unlawful entry into the United States.

What made this particular arrest stand out for the Border Patrol was that the amount of methamphetamine that the women tried to smuggle in was one of the largest amount of methamphetamine that was ever attempted to smuggle into the United States. The women were attempting to sneak passed the United States Border Patrol with 50 pounds of methamphetamine, a deadly and highly-addictive drug.

This historical arrest by the United States Border Patrol was due to the help of the specialized K9 unit, a branch of the United States Border Patrol that works with police dogs to investigate the possible possession of drugs ad weapons. The Border Patrol became suspicious when the women who were stopped at the check point were targeted by the dogs that make up the K9 unit. The large amount of methamphetamine was found by the Border Patrol in the rear of the SUV that the two illegal immigrant women were driving.

Special attention was paid to this case by the border control because of the astounding methamphetamine amount, the largest in history. The illegal immigrants had a specially built access panel on the floor of the vehicle above the gas tank - it was inside the gas tank that the United States Border Patrol found the 50 pounds of methamphetamine. The street value of the large amount of methamphetamine was estimated to be worth roughly $1.1 million by the United States Border Patrol.

Both of the women were under the age of 21 years old and had their small children in the car along with the illegal substances. They were all illegal immigrants and the children were returned to their fathers after the women were taken into custody by the United States Border Patrol.
